How to compare
- Turn Wi-Fi off, then lock your phone to one network type.
- Wait until the status bar shows it, then run a test here.
- Repeat for the next type within 20 minutes. Stay in the same spot.
Where the network type setting lives
iPhone: Settings, Cellular, Cellular Data Options, Voice & Data. Choose 5G On, LTE (that is 4G), or 3G where your carrier still offers it.
Android: Settings, Network & internet, SIMs, Preferred network type. On Samsung: Connections, Mobile networks, Network mode.
